Measurement Standard
VIM 5.1 (6.1) realization of the definition of a given quantity, with stated quantity value and associated measurement uncertainty, used as a reference. Think of the kg standard sitting in a glass jar in France or a rod that defines the metre sitting in a museum in France, or the metre as the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval with duration of 1/299 792 458 of a second.
