Who is Lawrence E. Wines?
A DWI, Criminal and Traffic Violation Defense Attorney that has extensive experience, a great trial record, a history of superior plea negotiation results. He graduated from the St. Louis University Law School in 1987 and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1989 after he left as a staff member of Missouri Congressman Richard A. Gephardt. Many attorneys must take the bar exam more than one time to pass I passed it on my first try after being away from law school for two years.
He has never been disciplined by the State Bar.
His background and having been a real fighter and champion athlete in power lifting (2nd Ozark region), weightlifting (Missouri State Champion), archery (6th in U.S. Junior Nationals) and a full contact karate fighter with a record of 26W-3L; has prepared him well for DWI defense and he believes the best results in the DWI defense comes getting the proper training and experience, also from hard work preparing the case, and having the courage to challenge the prosecution at every level.

He is a certified Operator of the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath testing machine. He has also completed numerous other courses on both the Intoxilyzer 5000 and Datamaster breath testing machines, which are the two breath testing machines used primarily by the police in Missouri. He is one of only two Missouri defense attorneys to have completed the 24-hour Drug Evaluation and Classification Overview Course, which forms the basis of the IACP / NHTSA Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) program. He has taught numerous courses on DWI and other topics to lawyers, police, and other law enforcement officials in Kansas and Missouri for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Kansas Trial Lawyer’s Association, and Lorman. In March 2006, he presented a lecture to Missouri State Water Patrol in Clay County Circuit Court, Division 6, on proper Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Procedures.
