Intoxilyzer 5000 filter wheel slot

Discussion Questions: The slot above contains the filter wheel which filters light for the three wavelengths used by the Intoxilyzer 5000C. The green processor circuit board seen on edge contains the variable resistors which adjust each of the three channel voltages received by each of the three filters. Other non-variable resistors can be seen.

  1. If a police officer removes and cleans the filter wheel is it imperative that he or she re-adjusts the channel voltages?
  2. If a police officer solders a new or (used from another machine) resistor onto the board to replace a failed resistor is it necessary for the officer to remove the processor board or can the resistor be soldered in with the board still in place - not removed? Can soldering be completed from the top or left side of the instrument?
